The 191-room luxury hotel will be built in a new 64-storey tower in Midtown Manhattan, due to open first quarter 2011.  The Shangri-La Hotel, New York, designed by renowned architect Lord Norman Foster, will feature a unique design for the slender 709 foot tall tower.  The building’s faceted exterior curtain wall will use low-iron glass to achieve a crystal clear appearance of the tower.

Located in the Park Avenue corridor of Midtown Manhattan - adjacent to the land-marked Seagram Building.  The hotel will have a dedicated entrance on 53rd Street between Park and Lexington Avenues and is an easy walk to midtown offices, shopping, restaurants, theatre and entertainment venues.

In addition to the hotel proper, 17 ultra high-end residential condominiums ranging in size from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet will occupy the top 10 floors of the tower – and can be reached by a 1,400 feet per minute dedicated elevator.  For more details, please contact us at slny@shangri-la.com.
